Pat Walker, Candidate for Medina County Commissioner
Pat Walker joins fellow Democratic Commissioner candidate Pauline Chapman in vowing to break the big money stranglehold on County government and “stop the same old politicians from ripping you off.”
Walker will Stop Government Waste and give the people the loudest voice on how their tax dollars are spent.
Walker and Chapman plan to repeal the license plate renewal rip-off enacted by the County Commissioners, which costs Medina County residents $20 every year when they renew their vehicle license plates. Walker and Chapman also plan to stop massive giveaways to political insiders like the $48 million in taxpayer subsidies provided to the developer of the Legacy Hotel in Medina.
“I want to bring County government out of the shadows and allow the taxpayers to have input on how the County spends the hundreds of millions of their taxpayer dollars every year” Walker said.
“Currently County government works mainly to benefit political insiders, and that will change if the people elect two new Commissioners in November.”
Walker is a graduate of Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania. Walker is also a lawyer and founding member of the Walker & Jocke law firm in Medina that emphasizes technology law including patents, trademarks, copyrights and computer law. She is currently serving as volunteer Bar Counsel to the Medina County Bar Association, is President of the Medina County Law Library Association and is an active member of numerous organizations. She is a past President of the Medina County District Library Board, a past President of Project: LEARN, a past President of the Medina County Bar Association and a past President of the Medina County Law Library Resources Board. Walker has also served on four (4) statewide nonprofit boards.
Walker has a proven record of stopping wasteful spending by public organizations. When Walker ended her service on the Medina County District Library Board, she was honored for her efforts at blocking needless expenditures in the building of the County Library branches and was given a plaque which proclaimed, “She diligently kept an eye on the taxpayers’ dollars.”
Walker said, “If Pauline Chapman and I are elected in November, we will do everything we can to Stop Government Waste and make sure that every taxpayer dollar is spent to benefit the interests of the people, and not to fatten the wallets of political insiders.”
